Unable to update my I-1000 - missing database

I have had my I-1000 since 2015. I use it for my 2014 Ford F-150 XLT 3.5L Ecoboost. I might've updated it when I first received it, but not since. I've since added a Borla sport exhaust and have a K/N CAI.

I was at the gas station this morning, and was going to change the octane setting, but when I attached my I-1000 and turned the ignition, it showed an error message. I don't remember the exact wording, but said something similar to: 'This vehicle is not supported. Contact DiabloSport support'

The Firmware info on the tuner says the DCX Tune Db and the Ford Tune Db are missing. The key is:

Tech Support Amber emailed to say I'm likely missing the database, that it's a common problem.

I downloaded and installed the Ignition Updater, then plugged in the I-1000 via the USB.

I received a message that the USB device malfunctioned and isn't recognized. I tried both USB ports on the PC.

I ran the troubleshooter both ways with no luck.

I have tried to update my tuner without success. I use a Mac computer, then used a friend's PC, but neither one was able to link to DiabloSport's website for updates. I booted up my old Mac I was using when I bought this tuner, still no luck.

I went to Finder/Preferences and ensured that the box next to External Drives was checked as Amber suggested, still no luck.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
