No change in performance with u7135
I installed the 91 CAE program and I wasn't to impressed with the programmer! I am in El Paso TX 4000 feet above sea level and only ran a 15.59. I installed the factory tune and my 08 Charger 5.7l ran the same time! I also changed some of the settings and my time only got worse. I turned off the EGR,Increased the fuel 3% at top end and even changed the rev limiter and I was slower every time. Do you guys have a suggested tune on what I should install? Please Help!
Thanks
Thanks

I have a feeling you are running crappy fuel thus causing you to get excessive knock retard with the tune installed and making it "feel" slower.
I would try a different brand of fuel if i where you.

I only use Chevron Fuel. Trust me it's not the fuel! What do you recommend for settings at my altitude?johan wrote:I have a feeling you are running crappy fuel thus causing you to get excessive knock retard with the tune installed and making it "feel" slower.

If you are at 4000ft, try running the non-CAI tune and see if that helps.

Have you monitored the KR in the live data or in a log?08stonedcharger wrote:I only use Chevron Fuel. Trust me it's not the fuel! Saying it is not the fuel to my tuner who has tuned more of these cars than anyone in the world is not the way to get this fixed if you do not know for sure.
Thanks

LOG IT like they said an you can see what is going on. If you have excessive Knock Retard it wont run its best with the stock tune OR the Predator tune.

10-4 I'll log it and report back to you guys. I just fillled up with 89 octane so it will be a while.SRT8Tech wrote:LOG IT like they said an you can see what is going on. If you have excessive Knock Retard it wont run its best with the stock tune OR the Predator tune.

Wait..... you're running a tune and put 89 in the car? Why? Better put back the stock tune for now, because otherwise your KR is off the charts.

I've been tweaking mine with the CAI 91 oct tune. I've been using Chevron 91 oct (California). I tuned to 12.2:1 afr and ended up having to pull about 5* timing to get the knock down to almost nothing (1 or 2 spikes to 1.5 or 2 and zero the rest of the time). That leaves me running between 15* - 18* advance. Not good. Not what others are getting. I'm switching to Arco to try that. Valero is next.
I have Shell, Arco, Union 76, Chevron, and Valero convenient.
Is Arco pumping BP fuel? (they're owned by BP)
Is Valero a good candidate?

Chevron would not be my first choice of fuel, the techron additive they use tend to make the vehicle more prone to knock.
I personally prefer Mobil, Sunoco, Amoco/BP

I did the same test as you at the track last year. Before I went to the track I felt the same way. I gained about .15 tenths less than an hour between stock tune and 93 tune. I also would like a lot better tune(firm shifts) during normal driving

What crom version are you running? The 8r20 was not good for anything on my 08 Charger but the 9r04 is great.08stonedcharger wrote:I installed the 91 CAE program and I wasn't to impressed with the programmer! I just filled up with 91 octane and installed the 91CAI with the 9r04 at the pump. So far so good but the truth will be at the track. I'll let you know!kymag wrote:What crom version are you running? Maybe it's just me but jumping back and forth between tanks of 89 & 91 octane and expecting immediate results in switching tunes might be expecting too much. Isn't there a little lag time for ECM to adjust?
