07 gt in the shop!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Post by jake2822 »

 About two weeks ago i instaled a C&L racer intake and 93 octane tune to my 07 GT >Everything ran great the first 100 miles .Then i started noticing what seemed like a missfire expecialy when my car was under load.I called u guys and u gave me a simple explenation of a leak somwere in the intake,WELL that is aparenly not the problem cause my car is at the dealer with stock programing and intake and the same problem!! the pcm isnt sending any problem codes and the service manager is telling me hes reading a misfire across variouse cylinders at different times. I have a hard time believing that my car that ran fine for 50,000 miles until i loaded your guys tune???????? Whats UP any ideas of what that tune might have done to my car???????? PLEASE HELP it is my only car and i need to get to work!!!!!!!

I will assure you that if the problem persists with the stock tune in the car, that it is in NO WAY tune related.

Have you been hauling ass through big puddles, or washing your engine? I've read about late model Mustangs getting multiple cylinder misfires because getting engine wet on the sides has fouled the electrical system.

I would say your problem was the Junk C&L not the Diablo tuner.

Sir, the reason I am sure is we test the hell out of these tools to ensure that no such condition can exist.
Also, if the Predator successfully writes the stored factory tune back to the car, it is just that, back to stock.

I'm not looking to be an ass, just trying to assure you that this is NOT a tune related issue. If you say you have a contaminated MAF, you have answered your own question as to what happened....

NO i dont wash my engine and why would i haul ass through puddles?????????????So mike your saying that my contaminated MAF sensor could corrupt codes in my pcm???That dosnt make sense. The dealer tried to reflash my pcm and there were still codes that didnt belong there.Dont get me wrong I absolutly loved the tune and kit when it was working but now I owe the shop 1400 bucks for labor and a new PCM.Why do u guys sell a tune to go along with a cold air kit that u guys know have the possibility of contaminating my MAF senser????? now that i have a new PCM what do u sugest i do???Put the same tune and C&L intake???I DONT THINK SO!!!! And by the way my stock tune was just fine before the reprograming. I dont want to use the C&L kit so what kit do u suggest that i use that dosnt use oil on the filter and that i could use with the tuner????PLEASE HELP MY tuner is set for the C&L kit ,can i change that???? I appologize for the ass remark im just very frustrated about my babe!!!!!!!

The tune CANNOT do anything to a MAF sensor.

Your statement here is so false, I do not know where to start, so I will educate you on how EFI works.
The PCM uses signals from the MAF to determine airflow through the motor.
It then decides how much fuel and even timing to add based on the input from the MAF. At no time is anything sent to the MAF, thus it cannot be corrupted by the PCM or the tune.
If the MAF is not functioning properly for any reason, it send improper signals, and then everything else gets screwed up as a result.
Then things like misfire codes appear.

The tune, again, was and is not the issue.

Thanks

Were did i say a tune could do anything to my MAF???iT WAS OBVIOUSLY THE REUSIBLE OIL INTAKE!! and there were no missfire codes at all THERE WERE NO CODES comming up at all I had to get a new PCM I fell like im getting the run around from u guys u didnt awnser anything at all so far mike I guess i know whos side your on now i give up I guess u just didnt feel like reading my letter carfully

Sir, I dont know what else to tell you.
If the MAF went bad, it caused the codes.
But, it cannot affect the PCM.
I have a terrible feeling that the dealer, as they often do, threw a new PCM at it in attempt to fix a problem that they could not figure out. It happens way too often, but it was not the Predator.

Also, the C&L intake is easily one of the best units out there, it has gotten nothing but rave reviews since it was released several years ago, no reason that we should not be supporting that CAI in our tool.

Thanks
