knk LT and ST Retard high

Post by vman998 »

Hi newbie here. Using an i3 tuner on my 2007 300c 5.7 Touring. Car is standard apart from T180 stat, BT catch can and aftermarket short air intake (I would say worse than standard).

There is no tune added yet and I went for a short run just to check the data logging feature and the max measurements were LT retard 10.5 and ST retard 5.0. Not an expert but these seem very high. I do have an engine code fault P0325 Knock sensor 1.

Any help is appreciated

The DTC is for knock sensor #1. There's two knock sensors (one for each cylinder bank). Each sensor is bolted to the outside of the cylinder block ... below the exhaust manifold. The KR numbers in the data log are high but they're not very reliable with a faulty knock sensor.

P0325-KNOCK SENSOR 1 CIRCUIT
Set Condition:
The Knock Sensor circuit voltage falls below a minimum value at idle or deceleration. The minimum value is from a look-up table internal to the PCM and is based on engine RPM. DTC will also set if the sensor voltage goes above 5.0 volts.
