HELP, Unable VIN / Calibration

Post by thertguy »

So bought used I3 from a friend with 1st gen Chrysler 300, he bought the I3 and I guess its for a 2nd gen 2012 Chrysler 300 5.7L which I just bought, he could not get it to connect to his 2008 SRT Chysler 300.

Anyhow, at first it had NO DCX tune on firmware, so I did an update etc. this week and it reads Unable to determine VIN and Calibration ID using last vehicle info.

LOCKED and Licensed reads 0/1 which means its Not Married

And it shows my cars VIN number and a CALID: #

Briefly spoke to customer service on lunch break basically they think cable issue, but how can it read my VIN if the cable is bad ?

it let me go to Diagnostic mode and clear codes etc also, I'd think if cable was bad this wouldn't allow any of this.

My other Dodge Ive had a Predator installed for 12 years with many CMR tunes, and email tunes so I'm pretty SAVY so to speak to technology.

Need some ideas Please.

I will log in with my phone and try and get screenshots of what I got going on also

THANKS

well, this is not an i3 at all, its an older i1000.
The i1000 only supports 05-10 DCX models, the 11-14 years used the i-1000-dcx model.

The tool you have here will not work for a 2012 300 unfortunately.

copy this to the root of the intune drive and let the device import it.
When its done go to the car and go to the tune menu and it will prompt you to load this then you can tune it afterward.

Mike,

Worked 100% Thanks you very much.

Next simple question, what is the most performance oriented tune offered in the programmer ?

Diablo Tune
91 Tune
or CAI Tune ?

Tonight I loaded the Diablo Tune and removed MDS and changed throttle percentage and took it for a RIP around the block before calling it a night, and man the car is alive now !! :D
