2007 Silverado 5.3 Torque Management

I have an 07 Silveradu 5.3 with Magnaflow Cat Back and a K & N cold air iintake. It has 3.42 gears. We play on an 8th mile and torque management is killing the bottom end. Seriously considering getting a Predator. I understand you recommend turning off the first 2 options and leaving the last 1 on.

I think there is a Predator tuner in Destin, FL. Do they have sale and do the installs or what. What kind of performance cann resonably be expected with the truck tune that is standard ?

I have a couple of questions before I buy a Predator:

a. How do I know they one I get from a retailer has all the latest updates in it? I assume if I buy direct it will...correct?

b. Can torque management be turned off and on without doing the whole reprogram every time. I think I would leave it ON except when I go to the track for reliability reasons.

c. This is regarding the programmer for an '07 Silverado 5.3.

the predator will remove the TM from the engine side of things alot... but does not have tranny support at this point, so you will not be able to adjust any tranny settings yet.

the TM is removed in the tune file, it is not an end-user adjustable parameter... so once you install the tune, the TM is greatly reduced on the engine, and stays that way. you can't turn it on and off.

buy it direct from diablosport, and you'll know you have the latest and greatest...

OK so the examples I have read where the TM Abuse Mode Time limit, % of Torque Reduction and upshift torque reduction are set do not apply to the U7194? I read where it was recommended just to enable the first 2 and not the upshift due to "shift feel".

Are you saying that I will not need to do this but rather just load the "canned" parameters and TM will be reduced? If so can you tell me how much? I think the WOT time is 4 sec. How much does the Predator reduce that?

I will buy direct if it will do what I want it to do.

Yes, it will reduce TM in the PCM.
Is this a NBS or classic truck?

It is a new body style.

OK now I'm confused....on Monday I called and was told it doesn't address TM at all but that was in work.

The GM TH does not allow WOT for 4 sec. Is that addressed with the Predator? I understand the trans is not addressed but what is in the program that reduces TM and how much is it reduced?

We reduce TM on the PCM, but not the TCM side.
The 4 second PE delay is gone with the tunes.
