U7194 Tuning Help

Post by Power »

I would like to know what to look for in the Log Play Back. Should I attempt to do a WOT run at 3rd gear or 4rth? Give me some tips to tune my 2007 Corvette Z06 LS7? Where should I look for knock under etc. Thanks.

You'll want to start doing some homework on this subject as there is alot to look at when tuning.
You can log at any speed, do a WOT run through the gears to see what it is going on.
Zero out the LTFTs and eliminate any KR, although you should not see any at all.

So what do I look under for knock on the diablosport, and what is ltft? This is getting very complicated for a programmer thats supposed to work off the bat.

Honestly, there is no 'need' to further tune this application.
There will be little if any power found in zeroing out the fuel trims, and I am positive that there is no KR present while using this tune.
In the live data menu the tool will give you a list of parameters to pick from.
Choose the ones you want to log.(like total knock and long term fuel trims)
Let me know what you find in the logs.

the reason why I am asking is because from the feel of the gain its nothing close to 20hp claimed. My car now runs hotter also. Do you have any tunes for california gas? Also what is the best gas I could use? Shell? Mobil? Chevron? Exxon? I currently use mobil and its running good, just not near the hp showing in the dynos I had previously seen for the c6 z06. I currently have a k&n air filter and a exhaust switch. Are these mods causing less gain? The diablosport felt more like 5-10hp. Not sure what to do now.

Well, it can be tough to feel 25rwhp on a 450+rwhp car....have you thought about dynoing the car or running it at the track to see the gains?
I'd stick with the Mobil or Amoco fuel.
If it runs hotter, set the fan cell temps all to 100%.

Thanks

the thing is that a mild 2 wild exhuast switch gains more power than my ecu, and the k&n feels stronger also. I agree that it is hard to feel the difference in a 440hp car, but I felt the other two mods more than the ecu mod. This ecu mod has me on a toss up if even I actually gain any power. Im giving it the benefit of the doubt at 5-10hp. For $400 its a okay deal but people whom buy a z06 just want the best. I believe other tuners out there will prolly get me what I need at double the cost, but that is okay as long as I get the 25hp I am seeking for. Im afraid I will have to return this product. I'm not saying its a bad product, just not worth the gains to me when I have alot more heat and just a tiny bit more hp. If you can show me a real 25hp tune I would keep the unit, but I have tried my best to work this ordeal out. From emails to forum post, my forum post prolly gets answered even faster As far as if the diablosport works for the z06, yes it does but IMO its not 25hp gain when compared to the mild2wild or k&n air filter upgrades.

Unless that CAI is throwing the tune off drastically, the tune you have will make 25rwhp on a LS7 Z06.
We have repeated this on more than one car, and yours should be no different.
Is there any chance you can take the car to the dyno to see the gains rather than return the unit?

For the 2006-2007 C6 Z06 your programmer has only 1 tune for it. I was under the assumption there would be 3 different gas grades. Is there a tune that does not add this much heat? Is this a result from leaning out the fuel trim? Also is there a way to have a tune included where there is less heat?

There should be no additional heat generated by this tune.
The LS7 has a compression ratio of 11:1, rendering anything other than premium fuel unuseable, without killing alot of power.
I'd love to know what your A/F looks like with a wideband.

I am getting a P0171 fuel trim bank 1, system too lean. This is what I suspected in the first place but you didn't want to help me remedy this problem and kept insisting the tune is correct. Please HELP ME...

go here and get some info on how to log, what to log, and how to adjust the injector slope and PE fueling: http://diablosport.com/index.php?name=P ... opic&t=917

If you're getting a code for being too lean, your fuel trims must be WAY off...

What tune are you using? after you install the tune correctly, disconnect the negative battery cable for about 15-20 minutes. this will clear out the learned fuel trims that are currently stored in the ECM.

another thing to do to avoid being too lean while you're logging/checking things out, is to modify the tune and make injector slope -5% and then reinstall it to your car. Then do some logging to check the ltft's and see where they're at.

I wish you didnt say I didn't want to help you. That is completely untrue.
Every time I post up a suggestion or question, you reply with another question, and no answer or input regarding my previous suggestion. This makes it tough to help.
Please go ahead and follow the link that 06MonteSS posted, and do some logging and dial in the injector slope and PE ranges and I can assure you will feel the extra power.
I must stress the fact once again that many lat model vehicles will lean out quite a bit when used with a CAI. Apparently, the CAI you are using is leaning you out to the point that the PCM is not letting you make peak power.
I'd be willing to bet that our tune on that car with the stock induction setup makes more power than that CAI alone with the stock tune. The problem is you have two different devices doing the same thing by different means, that is leaning the car out.
If you are going to modify the car to improve airflow, you may need to alter the tune to accomodate it.

My unit only records one and a half minutes of data. Can you guys fix this problem so I could get on with the fix needed to alleviate my problem. Also what gear should I be in for the 55MPH test and WOT test?

My car's an auto, but I've done the driving in both 3 and D, with the same results...
