2000 mustang gt with 4v swap

Post by ChrisN1313 »

Car has a 2000gt computer box code giz2 calid rvafat3

Now this car has a 03/04 cobra bottom end with no blower so pretty much a maurder motor for the most part. If I use a 4v base tune will it work correctly being a 2v computer.

I put a base tune in and made the adjustments for the injectors etc and it did fire up. Im just wondering being newer to the diablo thing if it will mess anything up or have any problems down the road.

Thanks Chris

So wait a minute. You have a 03-04 "Bottom End" and the GIZ2 is originally a 2V overhead. Now what heads are on this thing?

Sounds like he has a 4v head/cam setup and 4v Cobra bottom, but a N/A Marauder intake manifold.

Ahhh I see now. I would recommend using a 4V computer, however if it started up you're on the right track. How is the fueling etc..? Is your commanded AFR correct? How about the load and timing? Have you logged this thing running at all?

was just a base tune to get it started no afr readings yet there are some mechanical issues that the shop needs to fix first . The main reason I went out there was a fuel pressure issue and found out they hacked a 2v harness to work with a 4v and injector 6 and 7 were sticking open. Its a maraurder motor for the most part with a 2v computer. The fuel was good for a min or so until the injectors started to act up.

Check the wiring first unless you know you have two faulty injectors. Normally that's caused by the signal side being pinched and shorting somewhere
