On my truck I found the best power was Extreme, no timing, and used to run an edge, then later a puc. All the other tunes were hot, smokey and some timing rattle.

The higher the tune the higher your EGT's will probably get, if you have gauges you can monitor this. Don't believe your overhead computer for your mileage either, you need to hand calculate.
