03 Cobra "Did not detect ignition"

Just to make sure I do this right. I should select my baud rate to 57600? I have been selecting 115200 as in the directions in the .pdf file.

Just tried what you said and nothing at all now. Always getting failed downloads. No waiting on packet 2 just immediate fails. Actually when it fails on packet 2 it says "can not load Ford Gas application into Cobra tool"

Any idea why my screen now is almost completely black?

No no hard feelings, this isn't nearly as bad as my Megasquirt Datsun. (muffled laugh)

Does an Ebay invoice count as a receipt? She said she bought it online through ebay and it came in a new box but I dunno if he was a authorized vendor. I can pull that through my history but his packing receipt is long gone.

If not I am probaly gonna try to find a SCT. Just one of those things I am sure this is a great product and you all have been quick to offer help. Just don't like this thing at the moment.

LineC, An Ebay invoice qualifies as a receipt, if you can find it tonite call Abby at her direct line first thing in the morning @ 561-961-2400 and she can tell you if they are an authorized dealer or not and hopefully help you out.

Guys, I actually spoke to Brian today and he asked me to have LineC fill out an RMA request form as he is pretty sure the tool is defective. He saw the thread today and mentioned it to me.
Funny Kevin, we can spend all day together and then communicate better on the forums from home...

LineC, either fill out the RMA request, or email [email protected] and let him know about your issues with the reciept.

Thanks for the replies guys! I just caught back up with all the replies. Have some really good news. This might take awhile but it has a good ending.

Well when I took the Predator apart to check to make sure no wires came unsoldered, I tried to take a screw out of the back that wasn't a screw. Ended up being a contrast adjustment for the display. Dohh, Well I played with the screw for a little bit and the screen is back to normal. I can see the screen great now but I still had that problem with installing the tune. I have been trying to load the reflash on a laptop with only USB 1.1 not the 2.0 (faster usb). I am not sure if that is why I kept getting fails on the reflash or what. I decided to try it out on my home computer, (with usb 2.0) and it reflashed great with no errors first time. At this point I am excited and in my underwear with about 12 empty beers circled around me. So I jump outside still in my draws and try to load the tune on my Cobra. OMFG it worked like a champ. I am not a real spiritual man but I beleive god really felt sorry for me and that had a lot to do with my success.

Not sure what the deal with the "not detecting ignition", but the reflash was the key. My retard self was the cause of the screen going black. FYI only take out the screws you can see.

Works like a dream now and throwing my ported blower on and a new tune tomorrow. Thanks again for not blowing me off with my problems.

uh... im having the same problem... you just resent the crom file to the predator?
