I think you should get over it smokindodge, or should we call you smokincrack!!! Did you think that by buying a downloader there was zero chance that you might screw your truck up? Suck it up and pay for the damn repairs, it's not Diablo Sports fault, it's your fault! I'm a proud owner of their products and can't stand it when people like you bash them because you messed your rig up

i was told by a Diablo tech over the phone that the predator does not erase key cycles. Is this or is this not true?
That would be the only real proof the dealer would have. Did you clear codes off of your truck with the Predator after uninstalling it?

you know i can't stand folks like you either.i work hard for a living i bought that thing to change tire size and plus..i never ran it on more the the tow setting.it had a engine surge bad and software problems and you mean to tell me its my fault.i don;t like be lied to and faulse avertisment.thats what they did.so idk what you think im going to fix it myself,i work on tractors for a living.i know what im doing.your the smokin crack.

i will be happy to talk to you in a pm in to old for this crap name callin a shit.grow up.i'll be waiting on my pm.or i will be glad to show you proof on how the dealer voided warranty.we can talk over the phone i'll be glad to caht will your young punk.

The Predator does erase the key cycles. Until a couple weeks ago they were not even aware of the key cycle thing...... I'm sure they will get to it eventually....

If I only had a downloader on my truck as briefly as SmokinDodge did then I think I would be mad too. I didn't realize it was such a short period of time.

P.S. i heard the dodge guy would come down storry today. i said have his but here friday and i will talk or fight what ever he wants....40K on a truck and i want my ball joints covered....no if or ands about it!their excusetoday was they where only 55k off and 90k out was the replacement spec.I say you drive it i will hook up the trailor and you drive it down the interstate.you crash it you buy it 100k please!

I have to take sides with smokindodge. I had someone try to install a Predator programmer on my truck and it wiped out theecm. Not only that the damm thing caused a short that the techs are still trying to fix. The truck has been in the shop since July 16. They are still waiting on a part that had to come off the assembly line imagine that. I'm not blaming anyone but something caused it ot happen > I dont' think the installer was at fault. he was following the required steps in performing the install. I don't think i'm at fault I was watching the whole thing and the dam thing crashed the computer and a whole lot more.I don"t know when I'll ever get the truck back Whoose to blame????

well thats the thing whos to blame.how is it your fault when you do the right thing.all im saying is that pred knows they had a problem.but they put there product out there be fore the proper testing had been done.i have been aound diesels for many years .things don;t just happen.

im sorry to hear bout your truck.ecm can get $$$$.i hope that they are working with you atleast in some sense.

Smokingdodge I apologize for my rude comments. You're right, this site should be about helping people not pissing them off. Anyways have you tried different dealers, I can't remember if you said you had?? I spoke with two Dodge dealerships here before I bought my predator and both told me that the downloader would not void the warranty, I wanted to make sure because my '03 has a 100,000 mile warranty on the engine and a 75,000 mile warranty on the drive train. Both told me that is the downloader damaged something once or twice, they would still allow the warranty to be used...but if it was something that I continually broke, like blowing out my transmission, then eventually I would have to pay for the repairs. You may want to call some dealerships around to see what their policy is???

Hey check this out. my father-in-law has an 06 king ranch 6.0 w/ edge platinum has blown two head gaskets and 3 days ago lost egr and oil pump. like an idiot he had the truck towed in with out taking the mods off. they call and tell him that theres a problem warenting his truck and he needs to come in and talk to mgnt. he goes in and they don't even care about the mod they were griping about his air raid air filter. they finally let him buy a replacement factory filter system and told him to keep the other off and they warentied the truck. so just keep checkin around. good luck.

Smokindodge, what kind of engine miss are you refering to? Are you running out of fuel pressure? Do you have gauges? Not knocking ya, just trying to help. We can probably diagnose things here instead of the dealer.

No one will know that the Predator was installed... they may assume that something wiped out the key count, but they won't know what...
Here's an idea that will work, and I don't know why I'm throwing this out there, but why don't you just tell them your truck was near a lightning strike? Try to get them to disprove that one...

I don't really see lightning being a plausable excuse. Although if it come down to it I wonder what they would say, lol! The fact of the matter is they know that something has been on there to clear the key counts and there's not a good reason why that would have been done other than a programmer/downloader. So I can see how that yes, specifically, they won't know that a DS predator has been on there but they know something is up. If the Smarty can do it without clearing the key counts I know the predator can. Don't get me wrong...I'm completely happy with the predator but it'd be great if they could catch up with the Smarty in the detectability department, ya know?

i think if you told them that lightning hit your treuck they would laugh.cause i work on diesels and usually when it does hit them it kills the computer and a bunch of the sensors.i have fixed the truck myself.got a dealer to tell me what cylinder it was on and i replaced the injector.now she is running great.it just suck with this many miles on it having to shell out that kind of money .oh well life goes on.
