logging with my laptop

u7137-9t06d fixed majority of my problems. Prior to this it wouldn't even read the calid and I couldn't load a tune.
Now that it's fixed and i've been doing some tuning and logging but I can't live log using my laptop. I can log with the pred until it's full...and I can download and read what was logged. But when I try to log with my laptop hooked up, it acts as if it takes a quick snap shot of the log then stops. I've tried disconnecting/reconnecting but when I do, dataviewer locks up and stops responding. I've tried both the production and beta version of dataviewer...both have the same issue.

Any suggestions?

check the baud rate setting of the cable in Windows Device Manager...

make sure it's set to 115,200.... if it isn't, then change it so that it is...

reboot, then try logging again..

tried changing baud rate...didn't fix it.

it starts to log...but stops about 1.5 seconds into it....then at the bottom right of DV screen it says "transfering data" (don't quote me). Once this happens I can let it sit for 10 minutes and it does nothing. I try to disconnect and re-connect and DV crashes and I'm forced to reboot.

this sucks...really would like to log with my laptop.

I'm using a cerial cable...do you think that could be the problem and I need to try the usb?

Have you tried logging to the predator then uploading it to the DV for playback?

I have no problems logging to the pred and then downloading to DV.

I've tried everything...all the windows vista recommendations found in FAQ, firewalls, security settings, baud rate, etc.

When I hook up with my laptop, it logs the first 1.5 seconds...then stops for 10-15 seconds, then says "transfer in progress" on the status bar in the bottom right corner of the screen. If I stop recording prior to it saying "transfer in progress", I can play the 1.5 seconds of recorded data. But once it says "transfer in progress", DV locks and stops responding. I have to alt,ctl,del to proceed any further.

But again...I have zero problems logging on the pred and downloading with DV....just problems when trying to view live data.

Come on guys...surely someone has had this issue before.

I am having the same problem. I am running xp on my laptop. It acts like it just takes a snapshot.

Try updating to recently released u7137-9r06. There was a correction made for SCI based ECUs that affected live streaming with DV.

Be sure to follow the crom update procedures.
