Speedo off

When I unmarry the inTune from my car (2012 300 SRT8) the speedo reading is off. The speed will read higher/faster than I am actually travelling. I've tried it twice and both times my speedo was off, there's nothing wrong with it when a tune is installed though.

Do you have stock size tires and stock gears?

My gears are stock at 3.06 but I'm running 22" wheels. I know my speedo was off a little after I put on the 22's (without tune) but now it is grossly off. On the freeway it will read at least 20mph faster than I am actually traveling, in the city it will read about 10mph faster.

if you go into the tire size by height menu, what does it default to?
same for the axle ratio menu?

With the tune removed, for some reason the tire height defaults to 38"s. When I go into the axle ratio, it does not show which gear is the default.

I have the same exact issue, when I put my car back to stock, the speedo reads faster than I am going, and I have the stock wheels and gears in my car. I went in, once I re-tuned my car, and put the stock tire size in, and stock axle ratio of 2.65, figuring it could't hurt anything, and now, when I go back to stock, it still doesn't read right anymore. Anyway to correct this? You have to think, if my speedo is reading faster than I am going, the mileage is going to rack up more than what I am actually driving, and that is NOT good for my warranty, some advice would be great, thanks!

While you are right about the mileage accumulating faster than what you have actually driven, it's a relatively small difference that would take quite an extended period of continuous operation to add up to anything significant.

I wouldn't worry about it too much anyway, you have a 100K mile drivetrain warranty. You have plenty of time to get things figured out and corrected.

Well, I cannot figure it out, so I am putting my car back on the factory tune,m and taking it to the dealer to have them reset my PCM so the speedo wuill read correct, and when I re-tune my car, I am not going to mess with the tire and rear axle settings, as I don't need to change anything. I did that before, and thats why I think it messed up my factory settings.
