I bought a truck this past weekend that came w/ the diablo u7165. When I plug it in to do a tune it says "your vehicle is not in our database. contact your dealer for a free update. you cal_id is 'vxcf5h5' " what do i do??

The truck is a 2006 f250 powerstroke any suggestions?

Ok, I will try that as soon as I get the cable. The main thing that I dont understand is why this thing worked in the past for the previous owner. Can you explain why that is? Thanks for the reply! -Tanner

Tanner,IF THE OWNER HAD IT AT FORD THEY COULD HAVE DONE A REFLASH ON THE PCM AND THE NEW CALID WOULD NOT BE SUPPORTED BY THE R14 REVISION.IF YOU CHECK UNDER THE HOOD,OR ON THE RAD. SUPPORT THEY WOULD HAVE TAGGED IT AT THE FORD DEALER IF THEY REFLASHED IT.

So you were able to update it and load the tune?
You should certainly feel the tunes, even if its just the 40hp tow tune.

Thanks

and I am on the 65hp tune. It just does not feel any different than before. I thought there was suppost to be a noticable difference. I will drive it a little more this evening and see what I find.

Do I have to upgrade anything in order to use the 100hp setting?

So far, when I used the 100hp setting I got 20 mpg, but when I used the 65hp, I got 15 mpg in the city. My next step is to try the tow tune and see what mpg I get, plus see about the 4" turbo back exhaust. When I used the 65hp setting, the transmission didn't shift as smooth as when it was in the 100hp setting. Any ideas?

Transmission line pressure is the same on both tune for the 65hp and the 100hp. The adaptives might need relearning first but you should see that shifting will improve over the next day after driving.

On the 65hp tune, is the limitations of the 8000 lbs on the towing weight or the GCW?
