Dyno time

Post by NYESCALADE »

I'm going to put my truck on the dyno next Sat. morning....Finally!
I'm going to have some pulls with my exhaust cut-out open and some with it closed.
Any tips to get the most out of it...octane boost, timing etc...?
I already have my LTFT's adjusted to 0.
And I dont have any baseline numbers on a 6.0 AWD, I know it was 345 h.p. stock, but I dont know what the dyno numbers are on a bone stock 6.0. I heard to subtract 20-25% - that puts it at 258-276 h.p. Does that sound right?

Best bet is to make a pull with the stock tune, then back it up with tuned runs to see the difference.
Make sure you have the best fuel available to you, and monitor knock retard.
Dial in the A/F for peak power if necessary (12.5-12.8:1 ish), and you should be good to go.

BTW, assuming this is an AWD dyno, dont go in expecting big numbers...the only thing that matters is the gains present from the tune.

O.k sounds good, now on the A/f, should I look for 12.5-12.8 at cruise or at WOT? And if its off what parameter would I adjust on a u7193?
Thanks

only at WOT, and you would adjust your PEsettings/ fuel

i still think with the cutouts and CAI, and a good tune, around 300 at the wheels. unless AWD drivetrain loss is that substantial?
