When I originally purchased the programmer they I was under the impression like on the u7130 programmer they claimed the fuel mileage improvement up to 30%. Now I don’t know about you my results are that I lost 10-15%. Are they going to claim that only, gains were if you were running the truck downhill and were idling the whole way? I Bought the programmer for my 06 Ram, for the live data, trouble code read, better power, and of course better fuel mileage. Like I said before for the fuel economy why not let us lose a little throttle response to allow us to cruise at highway speeds with our G56 or if you have 4:10 ratios?

Right now as I see it the, the programmer has only 2 of the 4 things that the programmer was bought for. I bought this programmer almost a year ago, and still the advertised specs for when I bought it is not working. I cannot believe that all of us have let it go so long before complaining. But how long before we have what we paid for?

Hey Johan how much longer do you think it would be for the keycounts and the idel surge fix? For the U7131

Prolly beginning of next week, not sure i will have the idle sorted out, but the key counts and other data dealer checks for will always be intact.
I am making some changes for the idle but as i do not have a vehicle here with that issue it is kind of hard.

 When I load my tune, I select modify tune before loading it and enable the idle up feature. I load the tune and then have to go back into the modify tune menu after it's done and enable the idle up again but this time I just back out of the menus until it says load tune now? I unplug the unit without loading the tune and the idle works now. I can only get the tire size adjustment to work AFTER I've loaded the tune and gone back in to enable the idle a second time. After selecting the tire size I have to load the entire tune again and if I'm lucky, everything works.
This may or may not work for you and if it doesn't...experiment!

Yeah idle up has to be done after loading tune.
The tire size does not require a re write of the tune, it has a quirky update logic, what i would do is adjust it then turn key off for 30seconds, this will update it for sure.

How many people who have the U7130 programer who later bought the U7131 programer feel like they got ripped off?

well to use a 7130 and then a 7131 we would need to get a newer truck.

I'm not happy at all either! EGT's run WAY to high with the diablo on any setting. Half of what the predator is supposed to do, it doesn't. I've had to replace $1000.00 worth of parts because of this programmer. Idle is awefull, return from a rev is awefull. The truck surges and runs like ass untill it's warm. I think the power it makes is very poor compared to what other programmers make. The only positive I've had is that the few times I had to call cust. support, they were cool. I wont be recommending this tuner to my peeps....just my.02

I am pleased overall with the programmer BUT It does surge and float throttle issue if I get above the tow tune. I DONT LIKE THAT, It can't be good for the engine. Is there a fix coming for this or what?

I can't say I'm too happy with the tuner. I have loping idle issues when its cold out, but it does work good in hot weather, maybe the tuner should be advertised FOR SUMMER USE ONLY lol. I've got another thread going on this subject, just haven't gotten much for answers yet, hopefully they have some soon.

Well I have to say this, Diesel Tech did a mileage and power test on a Ford diesel and believe it or not, the Predator came in first on both categories. 16% improvement on mileage, can't remember the HP increase. For false advertising claims, this has been an issue with Diablosport addressed on the forum years back. There was undoubtedly advertising of feature that the programmer didn't do. As far as I know, my programmer does all that it was advertised to do. It's just a real bad business practice to say it does one thing when what should really be said is, well we are working on it and sometime in the future, it will have it, time undetermined due to working other projects. Also, if you have an authorized seller advertising false claims, don't take the high road and say it's them not you, hold them accountable and pull their dealership or make them change their add. Another deceptive practice I just saw in one of the Diablosport ads is they quote customers for their mileage claims, knowing full well the idiots they are quoting aren't handjamming the numbers. One ad had a guy claiming to go from 16 or something like that to over 28mpg! Obvious the guy was looking at the overhead console. Heck quote me, I once got that sucker to read an average MPG of 29.6 actual was barely 19. They do have a customer support line that is very helpful, but I agree it takes a pretty raw thread to get answers sometimes so fast as these. For the rough idle, I have had the same truck and programmer for about the past 5 or 6 revisions. It has been that way all along. I will say the revision I am running now, which was the most current one back in spring of last year is by far the best in that category, can't remember the # but it had a 9 and r in it. This one on my truck runs a little rough but not to the point I am concerned about it. I would post the CALID but I am not around either the truck or tuner currently. As far as Johan not being able to get a truck there and the conditions in FL not mirroring the upper US, that's an easy fix for what is such a popular company, if they want to stay popular and do what is right, send Johan to a customer with the problems to see for himself the issues, codes, how his attempted fixes react etc. Then we can call him Road Trip Jonah. This is standard on many other products out there. It's called customer service. Haven't had any surging issues on this revision. One question on the rough idle, I thought these engines had a ilde feature that shuts down 2 cylinders or something like that during start up in the cold? I would think that would make a rough idle, especially if cycling the intake heater creating a draw on and off on the electrical system and loading the alternator. So remember, you get what you pay for. With the info I have today, I probably would have tried the Smarty. So far I hear nothing but good things about them. I don't need the absolute most power, I need honest power gains, a good running truck at all temps, conditions, loads, and tunes installed.

I think that the last sentence of ranger dogs post says it all" I need honest power gains, a good running truck at all temps, conditions, loads, and tunes installed." I've only been on this form for a few weeks and it is hard to get an answer. I have finally gotten something to try from diablo on another thread. But I find it kind of dissapointing that in 2009 there tuner for an 06 and earlyer still doesn't work rite. I souldn't be having problems with a two year old tuner. I think I overpaid for this tuner, anyone want to buy it off me? lol
