Your right, I was thinking backwards.WhiteBuffalo wrote:UHHHH...I think you run leaner in winter since air is colder and more dense and richer in summer when air is less dense....SierraH/O wrote: I haven't adjusted my LTFT yet as it is still cold out, and I want to wait for warm weather so it doesn't run lean in the summer. I have the L33 HO 5.3, if that makes a difference to you.
then again...maybe I'm dense!![]()
more air=lean less air = rich ie Volant made me lean due to more air...

geez, do you have 3.42 gears?05Z71 wrote: On the way into work this morning cruising at 65 I was getting 24 mpg. That is an increase of about 4-5 mpg from stock!!!
I'm guessing that MPG was what the DIC read? double check that number with the actual calculated MPG's when you fill up. I'm betting, from experience, your DIC is optimistic by about 2-3 MPG.
This is my theory:
you where running lean. you adjust the LTFTs by tricking the computer into making the LTFTs richen back into the -2 to 0 range. all the while, the computer thinks it's spraying less fuel than it actually is. your miles are still calculated accurately, but the fuel being used is now below what you've actually used. the same numerator, divided by a smaller denominator and now you've got over-inflated MPG readings.

Fortunately you are wrong in your thinking...I got 448 miles out of this tank with quite a bit of around town driving included, but I do understand your way of thinking. I will check against my actual mileage this tank and post up the outcome.
On another note, I smoked a F-150 single cab from a 60 punch by a truck length to 95. He had a hypertech sticker, sounded like a CAI, and a nice sounding exhaust dumped. As a result, I got smacked on the arm because the wife was with me. My excuse was she had to be somewhere 35 minutes away and we had 30 minutes to get there...
