Delete Of AFM Valves After Tune Q?

Post by Hary Gahtoe »

I'm in the middle installing a full Stainless Works exhaust on 19 Camaro SS that comes without the mid AFM valves.
I have used the Diablosport I3 Platinum to program disable of AFM.

My question is;
Can I physically remove the GM exhaust AFM valve unit and plug the end of the electrical connector without getting a dash error code ?
Thanks for replies

that will likely lead to a code, not housed in the pcm, making it tough to disable. Might be some simulators out there that plug in to mimic the factory valves and avoid codes.

So it means; I still have to connect the factory valve units to prevent error codes even though there are no actuater valves in the pipes ?
I can do that, although it does seem counter productive.

Next question then;
If this is my only option where do I look for a plug-in simulator?

I'm open to any clues or followup.
Thanks

The error code being something else is highly unlikely.
It's a hard code that has 6-8 hrs of post drive time and is still active
Having had negative previous experiences with HP ( very steep learning curve/ non intuitive programmimng ) I chose Diablosport I3

Error code is P26C8

P26C8 error code indicates that the Chassis Control Module has requested a Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illumination, which relates to an issue in the emissions system.
The only change has been the aftermarket exhaust and was installed with valves active and functioning
After trying an fault code (x 6 ) I bought the C8 valve delete plugs without any help

Currently I'm focusing on Corvette C7 technical info to allow car ECU's to perform "internal" bypass without 3rd party signal control

you can try disconnecting the negative battery cable from the battery for about 30 mins... then reconnect it and drive the car, see if it triggers the CEL again...

a permanant code usually takes several drive cycles, of having no errors/issues, to clear...
