The fix is adding a ferrite core to the cable close to the connector at the Trinity programmer. This one was rated at 320 ohms @ 100MHz, and snaps over the cable. Cost is about $1, here's a link: http://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/28A2025-0A2/240-2075-ND/242803

Hardware solution
It looks like I may have a hardware solution. So far, about 150 highway miles with this modification and no symptoms.
Decided to consult my son, an EE at Intel. We've worked together on a couple projects previously. Total parts cost is less than a cup of coffee and the install is easy. More later ...

TPMS failure lamp blinking
This problem has been intermittently happening since using the Trinity over a year ago with a 2008 Jeep Wrangler.
Background: When TPMS detects a failure, it blinks the "tire" dash-light for ~70 seconds -- Then the lamp stays on solid. In contrast, low tire pressure simply turns the lamp on solid ...

It doesn't have to remain plugged in. I use it routinely as a gauge, and also for data logging.da kine rt wrote:Does trinity have toremain plugged in after tune is installed? Re: About the updates
I don't download the updates using a web browser, just let the DSDownloader program choose and install the latest updates after connecting the Trinity via USB to the computer. I've also noticed that it's usually necessary to restore the stock tune before hand to get all the updates.

Dead battery and sleep mode amps
First, I'd like to mention that I like the Trinity a lot, as well as the TSS custom tune I'm using :) . Maybe this is a software issue, or some odd defect in my particular Trinity programmer.
During sleep mode, the battery amp draw is 0.14 A. For a relatively short time this is insignificant, but ...

Did you restore the original tune before updating?

Re: RE: EGR Delete Costum Tune
how do you find it with the egr disabled? thinking of doing mine too I know you weren't asking me, but I tried the EGR delete on a Jeep and it really did not improve anything. All I noticed was slightly less MPG, which is exactly what should happen in theory if the EGR is correctly implemented ...

RE: 2006 Jeep SRT8 - CALID not supported?
Don't know if this will work, but try plugging the Trinity into the computer again (after the calid not supported message) and do an update.

CMR idea -- Time limited license?
I wonder if a time-limited CMR license might be possible? 1 month, 1 year, etc.

Log Files
Log files for 0 spark and -10 spark (all ranges, with WOT fuel at zero) attached. Looks about ~5 degrees difference in timing instead of 10. I don't think the actual spark timing retarded until the setting was below -5. This is probably normal, and the setting doesn't change the actual timing ...

RE: Tune questions: 2008 Jeep Rubicon
Thanks for the info. BTW-- Having some adjustment is a major reason why I bought a DiabloSport over the competition.
