RE: Re: RE: Not Programming

Thank you Diablosport. You are such a big help. After you guys "worked" on my Predator for 2 weeks I now have a worthless car. The Predator was not reset like it was supposed to be, so it told me it needed to restore the original tune. Once I restored it to the car, my car will not start and the ...

RE: 2005 mustang gt check engine light on. cat codes

You can't really use MIL Eliminators on 05+ Mustangs. They don't work on all the New Edge cars let alone the S197. They might work on your car but I wouldn't waste money on something that is about a 1 in 100 chance of working for you. There is a slight chance it could work since it's a 2005 instead ...

RE: Re: RE: Not Programming

So when I ask a genuine question, all I hear is crickets? Plenty of people complain about the key cycle issue and you have absolutely no idea why.
And as far as my car running rich, my exhaust tips have turned black in the 2 weeks since I sent my Predator in. I've cleaned them once since then, but ...

RE: E85 custom tune help

Yeah, it sounds like you probably need a tune. Most CAIs require a tune to keep your engine running normal. There is a change in airflow compared to stock that the computer can't compensate for like a new tune can.

RE: E85 custom tune help

The end result in the article was a loss in MPG with E85 compared to normal gas. They just decreased the drop in mileage compared to other E85 switch-overs from the past. "Normal" gas has around 10% ethanol in many areas, but E85 has a much higher percentage (In the article, the summer blend they ...

RE: Reseting Predator to Factory Defaults

Have you tried installing a tune? When I used mine for the first time, it backed up the original tune when I installed one of the performance tunes on the Predator.

RE: Re: RE: Not Programming

I cannot afford to send my Predator back in since I get approximately 6 mpg worse without clearing the codes.
And this topic should not be considered Answered, because I have yet to hear ONE explanation why a predator wouldn't recognize the key sequence. The only thing you ever hear is the generic ...

RE: Re: RE: Not Programming

It seems like you know a lot about computers, but not that much about engines. A P0421 or P0431 code will make the computer think that the catalytic converters aren't warming up like they should be, so the computer adds fuel to try and get the cats up to operating temperature. When the non-stock ...

RE: Re: RE: Not Programming

Do you own a Mustang or drag race one on a consistent basis like many people I know? The computer's adjustments aren't always correct as you seem to think they are. That's why just about every single thing you add on an 05+ Mustang requires tuning. The computer will either under- or over-adjust to ...

RE: Re: RE: Not Programming

I datalogged after clearing the codes and without clearing the codes and there is an obvious difference between the two. The test runs consisted of light to mid to heavy throttle. The engine was warmed up in both tests and conducted in 70 degree clear weather.
When I cleared the codes after startup ...

Re: RE: Not Programming

Also, the reason rear O2s sensors are disabled in just about every custom tune is due to the fact that the catalytic converters are removed. The rear O2 sensors have NO control over your fueling.

The changes in a closed loop fuel system is partly based on feedback from the O2 sensors. Varying ...

RE: 2008 mustang diablo wont read ignition

If you call support, they'll tell you that you need to send the Predator back to them, then you need to take your car to a dealer and pay them to reflash your car back to the stock factory tune.

RE: Re: RE: Not Programming

This is a quote tech center boss at Magnaflow, Richard Wiatas. (pulled from an article about adding an x-pipe to an S197 Mustang regarding the loss of power on the dyno and a jagged HP line after a dyno pull and talking about the effect on the ECU)

"Knowing only that it is running too lean-but not ...

Re: RE: Not Programming

Are you asking me, the guy who works for DiabloSport, a company whose main purpose is to deal with PCMs

Although I guarantee you know more than I do about these things...after talking to your support lines, just working for Diablosport doesn't necessarily mean you are always an authority on the ...

RE: Not Programming

Anyone with half a brain would be smart enough to not get one of those intakes. If it's running rich then it would actually have less flow than the restrictive stock filter. I am running cats and the exhaust does smell rich when I do not clear the code compared to when I do. It will always smell ...
